If you're like a lot of the residents of Bloomington-Normal, you've probably heard people referring to where they live as either "in town" or "out of town." Recently we've had a lot of requests from clients seeking to be close to the conveniences of BN, but yet also seeking housing in a more rural setting. So with this blog, BN Realty wants to share with our readers what exactly living "out of town" has to offer! It may be more than you think and could even be where your dream house is located. This week we are talking about the Heyworth area.
Located just south of Bloomington, Heyworth can be found where US 51 and US 136 meet. If you like the idea of small town living but still enjoy the conveniences of living close to town, Heyworth is certainly worth visiting. Just to give you an idea of location, town of Heyworth is located just 12 miles from Central Illinois Regional Airport. You can find a map of the town and more information about the history and culture of the community on the Heyworth IL website. The Heyworth Village Hall can be reached at (309) 473-2811 or villagehall@heyworth-il.gov. Children will attend schools in Heyworth CUSD#4; Heyworth Elementary, Heyworth Jr. High, and Heyworth High School.
If you've never looked for a home outside of town you may not have any idea about how beautiful some of the lots in rural areas can be. Large, lush grass areas in some of the yards are so pretty that they look like parks. What better way for your children to grow up than spending their summers outside playing with their friends while you sit on your deck or patio with a cool glass of ice tea? There are countless different ways that you can spend your time if you lived in a home accompanied by a one acre all the way up to 20+ acres of land! Some of our favorite activities would include gardening, raising animals, exercising on the walking trails, and building or antiquing furniture.
Aside from the small town feel and stunning properties located in Heyworth, we can't forget to mention that there is a style of home for just about anyone here. Older farmhouses, newly built homes and empty lots are all available. We are confident that we can find something that appeals to your style. There are smaller, quaint homes that offer original hardwood floors and charming characteristics and there are also larger homes with 4,000+ square feet and brand new chef inspired kitchens! If neither of these styles has you picking up the phone to schedule a showing, remember that with empty lots for sale there is no excuse not to consider building your home to get everything you dream of.
We hope that we've encouraged you to at least consider allowing us to take you "outside of town" as we search for the perfect home for you. There is exceptional value to be found in the homes or empty lots in Heyworth and we look forward to discussing the other advantages to home hunting in the rural areas surrounding Bloomington-Normal.
