Where will you be when baseball history is made?

It’s hard to find someone that doesn’t know about the Cubs playing in the World Series right now. Most will even be able to tell you that the series is tied with each team having won 1 game so far. The year 1908 is becoming a popular topic of conversation, as that is the year that the Cubs won their last World Series. The names Rizzo, Bryant, Baez and Schwarber are fairly new to the game of baseball but it’s safe to say that most sports fans have been hearing them being said at an increasing amount these last few weeks. Cubby Blue is seen everywhere and grocery stores are selling many cases of Old Style beer, just because it is a staple of the Wrigley Field Experience.

The Cubs will return to the historic Wrigley Field on Friday to play their first World Series game there since 1945. They will host the Cleveland Indians at 7:00 PM on October 28th, 29th and 30th with the opportunity to win the series at home on Sunday. Thinking about buying a ticket? It may cost a small fortune! ESPN reported that the median ticket prices are $2,000-$3,000 each. Some Wrigleyville bars are even charging up to $250 per seat to enjoy watching the game in their establishments. For many Cubs fans though, it’s a small price to pay for the hope of witnessing Cubs history.

If you live in the Central Illinois area, you’ve likely noticed that Bloomington-Normal has officially been hit with Cubs Fever too. There’s no shortage of Cubs apparel being sold and proudly worn around town. Whether you’ve had Cub pride for 100 years or just a few short weeks, there are plenty of ways to celebrate here in Bloomington that don’t cost an arm and a leg. Chipotle is offering buy 1 get 1 free on their burritos, bowls and tacos if you wear Cubs clothes during your visit. Joe’s Station House and Joe’s Pub are featuring half price pizzas and rolls when you ask for the offer. If you’d rather watch the games from the comfort of your own home, we would suggest grabbing a Chicago Style Pizza and wearing your favorite lucky Cubs T-shirt! However you choose to celebrate the Cubbies and their first World Series since 1945, we here at BNRealty hope that you do so safely and we hope that we can report a Cubs win come Sunday night!
