We are officially halfway through summer already and it’s hard for us at BN Realty to believe! Someone mentioned in the office the other day their plans for the upcoming McLean County Fair and our jaws dropped because none of us expected it to be coming up so quick! If you’re anything like us and feel like the beginning of August is sneaking up on you, don’t worry! We’ve got your back and we will give you ALL the details you need to know for the fair right here.
So when is the fair? Wednesday August 1st- Sunday August 5th, 2018. The fair hours will open starting at 6 am and will close at 9 pm. The exhibits will run from 9 am until 9 pm on those days (with the exception being that they close at 5 pm on Sunday and that the 4-H projects leave at noon on Sunday). The carnival hours on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday will be 1 pm to 11 pm and on Saturday will be noon to 11 pm. Sunday will be noon until 10 pm. One of the best parts of the fair is that there will be free entertainment from 11 am until 8 pm daily! Visit the McLean County Fair Website for a complete list of entertainment.
What types of fun can I expect? Food & farm family fun zone, comedy & magic shows, music, 4H exhibits, antique tractor displays, dog agility demonstrations, balloon twisting artists and more! You can even catch the demolition derby on Saturday evening!
How much does it cost? Single day admission tickets for Wednesday – Saturday range from $4.00 (children 6-12) to $7.00 (adults). Sunday admission will cost you $1.00 for children and $3.00 for adults. If you want to visit on multiple days, we recommend getting the 5 day wristband which is $10.00 for children and $16.00 for adults. The events at the grandstand will cost you $8 on Wednesday evening for the Tractor Pull and Pick-up Truck Pull off’s. Both Thursday and Friday you can catch a concert for $6. The Demolition Derby on Saturday will be $15.
Where is the fair? The address is 1106 Interstate Drive, Bloomington IL 61705. It is held at the Interstate Center on the west edge of Bloomington. The McLean County Fair website offers a map of the fairgrounds.
If there are any other questions that you have about the fair, please feel free to ask us or any other local! The website has a ton of information as well. We know that this is always one of the highlights to spending summer with our families and we hope to see all of you there!
